Which AI surface should I use?

| AI Assistant | Conversation, workbook building, debugging, and multi-step tool use | Saved workbook or Global conversation; a bounded cell preview; tools allowed by your permissions |
| AI Prompt cell | A short, repeatable, user-controlled transformation or explanation | One isolated request; only the prompt, reviewed target, and selected cell context; no tools |
| Full-screen Ask | Ask about the draft you are editing | Context selected and reviewed for that request |
| Full-screen Edit | Propose a replacement that you explicitly apply | Context selected and reviewed; no silent replacement |
